Junior Golf Instruction
Tommy has been recognized by U.S. Kids Golf as a Top 50 Junior Golf Instructor in America in both 2006 and 2010. Additionally, he has made the Honorable Mention list to this prestigious award in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012.
Tommy has taught several students who have played at the Division I collegiate level. He was also the instructor of the youngest club champion in Greenwich Country Club’s (Connecticut) history. His student was 15 when he won the club championship; an impressive feat for a 120 year old club. Currently Tommy is the Head Golf Professional at Glen Ridge Country Club in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.
Tommy’s teaching philosophy for junior golf instruction is to find out what the students goals are. If the student wants to simply get the ball airborne he will teach them on that level.
Tommy wants the student to understand the cause and effect of their swing’s influence on the direction the ball goes. If the student wants to play golf at the collegiate level he will make certain they understand all of the fundamentals of not only the swing, but also of competitive golf. Both examples of these students are going to have to work equally as hard, as nothing comes easy.
